Who We Are

Tiny Outdoor Explorers was founded by Lisa Cockerton, who over the last 20 years has managed, developed and delivered site and classroom based environmental education, events and training.

Lisa's previous experience has been gained working for Watling Chase Community Forest, The Soanes Environment Centre in London and the national charity Waste Watch.

Activities developed have included outdoor holiday play-schemes, themed and guided walks, a waste-education training programme and a range of environmental activities linked to the national curriculum.
Now a mum to two lively boys, Lisa's experience led her to set up 'TOES'.

I hold a strong belief in sustainable living and believe passionately in the importance of outdoor learning from a young age.

Lisa is joined by Cathy Smith, a qualified teacher who has worked with pre-school children for over 20 years. She currently works with children with special needs in numerous schools across Leeds. Cathy has introduced learning through the environment to many children over the years and loves being outdoors. She has two grown up daughters who also share this love of the outdoors.
